SHORT STUDENT DOCUMENTARIES

Here are three short student documentaries that were completed as part of assignments throughout my time at CU Boulder. A lot of the lighting and composition are very poorly done but I felt it was necessary to put these here as a little peek into how far I have come as a creator.

COMBUSTION

This short doc was featured in the May edition of CU Boulder's CMCI Magazine.

This short documentary confronts the causes, solutions, and multi-million dollar ramifications caused by the recent Colorado wildfires. Through a series of interviews, and found footage, this doc captures the life-altering consequences of climate change in Colorado mountain communities.

SOUNDS OF THE 303

Student Project: Short Documentary

In this short student project documentary, I wanted to explore what it's like to be an up-and-coming artist in a small market like Denver Colorado. In this amateur documentary, Shane Cohen, an underground Rapper/Producer, and Kyle Szalay, an alternative singer and songwriter, discuss the advantages and disadvantages of being a small market artist. During the filming of this documentary, there were many technical difficulties which are apparent in the second interview which was filmed on a lower quality camera and due to a scheduling conflict, had to be shot over face time. Neither less, both interviewees give great insight and detail on their experiences in trying to give Colorado its own sound.

STEVEN

In this VERY AMATEUR short documentary my friend Carter Ferryman and I, focus and the lifestyle and experience of Boulders homeless through Steven Brough. Steven is somewhat a celebrity on CU as he lives underneath a bridge that connects CU to the "Hill" and has a giant mobile wagon that he essentially lives out of. We wanted to show who Steven is and what makes up his character. This was the first school project I was a part of and ultimately was an experience I will never forget.
